Can Cook Won't Cook

I have an admission to make........I don't cook........I can cook, I got cookery O level for goodness sake. I'm just not that fond of actually doing it. I can still remember the stress of making beef olives (yuk) for my O level exam.
Luckily my husband likes to cook so we don't starve!
So that said it seems a bit strange that I was so attracted to these little vintage tins that I had to buy them, but they are so lovely.

So whether you cook or just want them for their decorative properties they will be in my Etsy shop Beau Papier tomorrow.
Happy baking.............send me a sample............I like cake!

Friday Flowers from The Flower Room

If you are ever passing through the village of Bourne End in Buckinghamshire, you will see in the centre of a parade of shops a greengrocers. Unless you venture inside you will never discover tucked away at the back, the flowery wonderfulness of The Flower Room.
When I last visited looking for inspiration for friday flowers, Julienne the florist was standing behind her bench with cornflowers, phlox, love in the mist, mint, rosemary and alchemilla mollis in drifts in front of her.
What are you going to do with those? I asked.
I thought some flowery, herby hand tied bunches came the reply.
Oh would you make one for me while I wait?
And she deftly arranged all those wonderful flowers and herbs into this beautiful bunch.

Thank you Julienne, and thank you to everyone who reads this blog, these flowers are for you.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Cotton Reels

At my favourite antiques market last week, I was lucky enough to pick up a big bag of wooden cotton reels. These are something I find hard to resist........so much nicer than the plastic sort of today. But it wasn't until I unpacked and sorted through them that the myriad colours came to light.

The Village

Its not often that you find an entire village in a drawer.

Especially a shabby little wooden village, obviously loved and played with and a small painted drawer......perfect in its battered shabby state.

The houses and trees split into two sets will be listed soon in the Curiosities and Delights section of my Etsy Emporium.
I wasn't going to list the drawer, its pretty heavy and I thought shipping charges might be high. But if you are interested I can work out a shipping price for you.
