Friday Flowers

Beautiful Princess Irene tulips, which incidentally have a lovely honey like fragrance, in a new dumpy glass vase that reminds me of an old jam jar. Which hints at my latest personal treasure hunting addiction....old kitchenware.
I've been inspired to do some baking.

Who likes scones? I do especially when they are stuffed full of Sultanas and piled up in front of vintage baking trays.

I'm exhibiting at a Dollshouse fair in Thame, Oxfordshire, this Saturday. Fingers crossed that the weather stays fine.

Have a lovely weekend

Friday Flowers

Because as far as I'm concerned you can never have too much blue and white! These are a few Muscari flowers that wouldn't fit in yesterdays Valentine vase.

And the next picture also includes something blue! Vintage kitchen scales that I found on my last treasure hunting expedition. The plant that I can't resist stroking......it feels like curly curly hair.....is Soleirolia. But it has a variety of common names including Baby's tears, Mind-your-own-business and Mother of thousands.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday Flowers

What do you do when someone does something really special for you? I would usually give them flowers, but this seems a bit ridiculous as the person works in a florists.......let me explain.
Ruby works in my local, go to at least once a week florists.......it's opposite the Post Office....that's my excuse!
Anyway she has been rushed off her feet recently and yet she still asked if there was anything that I wanted for photographs that was a bit special.
Snowdrops, I said, ah said Ruby, might be a bit difficult, they are horribly expensive, I'll see what I can do.

So on the following Friday after posting some packages I popped into the florists and Ruby handed me a beautiful bunch of Snowdrops........How much do I owe you? Nothing, she replied, they came from my Mother's garden.
I was so touched and of course gave her a hug and a kiss and thanked her for her kindness. I'm hoping in the course of our conversations, something will reveal itself and I can repay her kindness.

Thank you Ruby!!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend

Friday Flowers

Normal service has resumed this week!
I was so busy getting ready for a Miniatures show last weekend that I completely forgot about Friday Flowers!! Having missed the boat, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Flowers didn't have the same ring to it....so I left it until today.

As you can see I am still in love with vintage teacups and saucers, I've had this one with the Pansies for about a year and love its faded subtle colours, a perfect container for a Primrose.

Spring is nearly here, it's the first of February today, the midpoint between the shortest day and the Spring Equinox. I know we probably have some more horrible winter weather to come.....but I can dream!!

Have a lovely weekend
