Friday Flowers

These wonderful, spikey, thistle like flowers show their faces in my garden every year.
This year I yielded to the temptation to pick a few to enjoy indoors, they found the perfect home in the shape of a handpainted white glass vase, a lucky charity shop find.

I had to look them up in my gardeners encyclopedia, for although they come up every year I had no idea of their name. I am very pleased to introduce Centaura Montana a member of the family that includes Cornflowers.
