Friday Flowers and..........

This week's friday flowers are part of a longer story.
It started with a sample of wallpaper.........not that I'm thinking of wallpapering anywhere but I was in the DIY superstore and I saw a notice in the wallpaper department 'samples no more than a metre please.'......I took that to mean that one could have 1metre samples. 1 metre of wallpaper = backdrops for photographs, so I took metre samples of everything I liked.....they must have thought I was wallpapering a mansion!
So this particular piece of wallpaper has a soft pearly pink background, grey scrolls and yellowy green and pinky purple flowers.....revolting you might say but somehow it works.
Off I went to buy the friday flowers, something to pick up the pinky purple tone in the wallpaper. If you read this blog, you will know that my favourite florist is tucked away behind a greengrocers. Having chosen my tiny chrysanths in just the right colour, on the way out I passed an artichoke.....how lovely I thought....baby turnips, baby aubergines and a bunch of asparagus, suddenly Friday Flowers became Friday Flowers with Wallpaper and Vegetables!

Hope you like the pictures, it will be back to just flowers next week!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday Flowers

Meet Angela Rippon, a miniature rose with the most perfect old fashioned rose type blooms, each one just over an inch across. The whole plant is about five inches tall.

I thought she looked like a little rosy cupcake in her scalloped planter.

Have a very sweet weekend.

Paris Souvenirs

Many years ago I went regularly to Paris for my work, I haven't been back for years but the flea markets are calling me and I keep promising myself a trip.
Perhaps that is why I'm drawn to these souvenir bracelets and other Paris ephemera.

All these Parisian Treasures will be listed in Beau Papier, my Etsy shop on Friday 22nd July.......come and have a taste of Paris!

Friday Flowers

Last Sunday I planted 14 Lavender plants along the side of my drive. The front of the house is south facing so I'm hoping they will do well. One Lavender plant had already seeded itself in the gravel and is thriving so I decided to follow nature's lead.
Before planting all those plants I took a photograph of one.........for your friday flowers.......I just wish this blog had an aroma button!

And here is what they looked like after I'd planted them, I'm hoping next summer I'll have a billowy lavender hedge....a touch of Provence in South East England......one can dream!!

Enjoy your weekend
